Senior Columnist Naeem Masood Visits UET to Discuss Higher Education and New Academic Programs
The Faculty Development Program at UET Lahore, in collaboration with KICS, successfully organized Cohort Two of the transformative one-day workshop titled “Empowering Your Research: Strategies to Win Competitive Grants and Maximize Impact with AI” on July 8, 2025, at the Smart Classroom, Main Auditorium Complex.
Building on the overwhelmingly positive feedback and success of the first workshop, this second cohort was curated to deepen faculty members’ understanding of competitive grant writing and the powerful integration of AI in enhancing research impact. Participants from across UET campuses and other institutions came together to gain hands-on experience and practical insights into crafting compelling proposals and maximizing their research visibility. The workshop was honored by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, and Prof.
Naeem Masood as the chief guest. Both dignitaries emphasized the critical importance of such forward-looking, capacity-building initiatives in transforming academic institutions. They highlighted that empowering faculty with modern digital tools and strategic research methodologies is essential to achieving academic excellence, global recognition, and meaningful societal impact.
Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir also extended heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Dr. Aneela Anwar (Lead, Faculty Development Program), Prof. Dr. Waqar Mahmood (Director, KICS), and Prof. Dr. Usman Ghani (Chairman, Department of Computer Science) for their exceptional hard work and efforts in organizing this impactful training workshop.
