UET Lahore Hosts International Seminar on Sustainable Cement-Less Concrete for Pakistan's Future Constructions
Civil Engineering Department, UET, Lahore organized a one-day international seminar on ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY CEMENT-LESS CONCRETE FOR FUTURE CONSTRUCTIONS IN PAKISTAN: GEOPOLYMER CONCRETE, A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION as a part of HEC funded CHINA PAKISTAN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR (CPEC) Collaborative Research Grant (P. No. 16682). The Guest of honor; Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat (VC UET Lahore) Prof. Dr. Zahid Ahmed Siddiqui (Chief Guest), Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq (Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering), Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan (Chairman, Civil Engineering Department) and Dr. Qasim Shaukat Khan (Principal Investigator) signifies the importance of sustainable cement-less concrete i.e. geopolymer concrete as a sustainable construction material for future constructions in Pakistan. Speakers from Australia and Pakistan highlighted the importance of geopolymer concrete as a sustainable construction material and technology to address Global warming and Climate Change issues. Prof. Dr. Khalid Farooq (Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering) appreciated Dr. Qasim Shaukat Khan (PI), Prof. Dr. Asad Ullah Qazi (Co-PI), and Prof. Dr. Noor M. Khan for the successful organization of the seminar. In the end, Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat distributed the shields amongst the PI, Co-PI, and presenters.
